Forget Me Not

Each November National Forget Me Not Day is observed. In 2018 the date occurred on November 10th as it does every year. Forget Me Not day encourages the people to try and reconnect with people that you may have not for quite some time. For all those individuals who would like to reconnect with a friend or family member this is the day for you.

Forget Me Not Day was created by Judge Robert S. Marx who wanted to show support for the wounded returning soldiers. The date was 1921 and there were only a few services and organizations that existed to provide support and care to veterans required. Many of these soldiers came back home following war. Marx wanted to remind the country of their sacrifices and raise funds through the sale of forget me nots. In 2003 a second forget me not day was created to bring awareness to Alzheimer's

Some great idea for you to do today include thanking disabled ex soldiers for their service, remembering to be kind to our elderly neighbors, communicate with long lost friends or send simple gifts of forget me not flowers to your loved ones as a simple way to show that you truly do love them.
