Benefits of Getting outside

It's a beautiful time of year to get out in nature. Here in the southern part of Illinois we have abundance of opportunities to do that. You may live somewhere that it is a bit harder to enjoy nature but following a few tips should be able to help you get a bit of outdoors into your life

  • Consider walking or biking to work. Studies have showed that those that walk or bike to work report being happier and less stressed .
  • Get out or consider a vacation in cold weather. Studies have shown getting out in the weather helps boost the attention span and memory functions 
  • consider taking a walk with a co-worker where the creative juices are more likely to occur than when sitting at the desk. 
  • Burn some energy and calories by growing a fall garden.
