Seven Layer Salad

This recipe is fun to make in a large glass bowl but I have seen it at potlucks created in casserole dishes as well

Seven-Layer Salad

Lettuce, 1 head
Green Bell Peppers, chopped, 1/2 cup
Celery, chopped, 1/2 cup
Onion, diced, 1
Green Peas (frozen), cooked and drained, 1 pkg.
Mayonnaise or Miracle Whip, 1-3/4 cup; add 2 Tbs. sugar
Bacon, fried and crumbled, 8 or more slices
Cheddar Cheese, shredded, 1 cup

Layer ingredients in order given in a LARGE casserole type dish. Tear
lettuce into lettuce bits as cutting causes them to turn dark faster. Do not mix or toss; leave in layers. Seal airtight for 24 hours in refrigerator before serving
