First 5 Steps To Vegetable Gardening

Well, yesterday I shared about planning a garden and then I was able to find an even greater sie located at Green Generation that shares the 5 most important steps of veggie gardening. In short they are:

  1. This one is adorable and right to the point. They want the gardener to remember the garden is thiers. There are no rules as to what they have to do, what they have to plant, etc... Simply do what you want to do

  2. Decide what you and your family would want to plant in the garden. Are there certian veggies that you would use more than others? Simply decide what it is you want to plant

  3. Make sure after you decide what you would want to plant that it is able to grow where you are. There are plants that desire certian qualities that where your garden is may or may not have. Researching the plants and deciding which is the right one for you to plant may be the perfect winter project for you to complete while waiting for spring

  4. Plan your garden: when can you start to plant what will be planted first what will have to be planted towards the last, possibly make a sketch of your planned garden also including how much room each will take to plant

  5. Begin to buy your plants and seeds. My dad used to always buy his at the same place each year because those were the places he trusted. I can remember going to the hardware stores and purchasing the seeds while the plants often came from greenhouses.
