Amelia Earhart

One person that has been able to capture Americans attention for over 3/4 of a century is Amelia Earhart. Who was she?? What did she do?? Why do we still think about and discuss the possiblilities of what might have happened.

Perhaps the first place you heard about Earhart was in grade school. She was the first female to fly across the Atlantic ocean, first to fly solo from Hawaii to California, and her final trip to fly around the world she mysteriously disappeeared without a trace in Pacific Ocean. Whatever did happen to her?? That is the question that haunts many.

There have been many searches that have taken place. The search for her twin engine plane has turned up no answers as well. Intelligence and technology has seemed to make no difference as of yet. There have thought of many things that may have happened but has of yet not figured out the entire story of what did happen.

Was this her plan??

Amelia's story:
On midnight July 2, 1937 she climbed into her plane in Papua New Guinea and flew away in th dark night. Along side was Fred Noonan, the 39 year old pilot who flew east toward Howland Island an island in central Pacific Ocean. Her adventure of circumnavigating the globe along the equator in a 29,000 mile flight would end in her disappearance.

The thought is that it may possible that Earhart was captured by the Japanese and died a prisoner.
