February is National Snack Food Month. I seem to often snack more often than I eat a full meal. While many of us will be snacking a bit while we do it the smart way we will be better off. Some quick tips to manage snacking habits are:
- portion control should be kept in mind. A single serve container of yogurt or a few nuts both make a good snack. However, a multi serving package may lead to over eating
- Plan snacks out just like meals. That way nutritious ready to eat supplies will be ready to eat.
- Snack only when hungry. Snacks are like mini meals that give our bodies rich nutrients. Eating mindlessly because of boredom or other reasons is not good.
