Red Ribbon Week

The last week of October every year is the time to celebrate red ribbon week. You may see red ribbons at your child's school. I know outside of ours there are red ribbons tied to the fence around the playground. Simple acts that offer a firm message. Each red ribbon stands for a boy or girl, a caring adult or family member. It is a symbol for Americans who are coming together to make a drug free atmosphere

The Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse provides leadership for this exciting event. It is a nationwide celebration that has become a major force for raising public awareness and bring communities together to combat alcohol, drugs and tobacco use of our youth.

Red Ribbon Week is the Nation's oldest and largest drug prevention program that reaches millions of Americans during the last week of October each year
