Christmas in July ---- Celebrate with Cereal Treat Ornaments

Celebrating Christmas in July this week will be lots of fun. From Watermelon Christmas Trees

to simply mixing a bit of summer theme with Christmas nastalgia. So much fun to be had.

But first lets start with a bit of a snack. All this thinking has left me desiring a Christmas snack

1/4 C. butter + extra for your hands (you’ll need for shaping the Rice Krispy treats into a ball)
1 10-oz. package marshmallows
1 tsp. vanilla
6 C. Kellogg’s Rice Krispies
Holiday-colored sugar sprinkles or jimmies
Rolo candy
Toothpicks

In a large saucepan melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir constantly til well combined. Add vanilla and stir again. Add cereal and mix until all of the cereal is coated with the mallow mix.

With buttered hands shape the cereal into six balls. The balls should be packed tightly

Working quickly roll the balls in your choice of decoration. Some ideas include colored sugar, holiday colored jimmies or sprinkles. Coat the balls well.

To make the top of the ornament stick a toothpick into one end of a rolo candy, the other end of the toothpick goes into the cereal ball.

Enjoy
