German Chocolate Upside Down Cake

I had never heard of this recipe but a friend of mine shared it with me yesterday at the church lunch. She is a terrific cook and I love her lots

1 c. coconut
1 c. chopped nuts
1 stick butter, melted
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 (16 oz.) pkg. powdered sugar
1 box German chocolate cake mix

Grease 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Sprinkle coconut and nuts over bottom of pan. Combine melted butter, cream cheese and powdered sugar; beat until smooth and pour over coconut and nuts. Prepare German chocolate cake mix as directed on box.
Pour batter over icing mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes. Cut in squares and serve. To assure moistness, allow the cake to remain in the pan.
