What To Do When Out of Buttermilk

We used some light buttermilk that we already had and we added some whole milk to it and put it in a jar near the kitchen window.
Then we waited 24 hours for it to get thick.  (It’s called “clabbering”.  Isn’t that weird?)
And then we put it in the fridge. Ta da!
Wait a couple of days and then taste test it. Someone that drinks buttermilk should be the taster.

  1. I am always looking for substitutes to items I don't have in the house when I don't want to run to the grocery store. I will need to add this one to my list!

  5. We only have 1 buttermilk drinker here. He loves to make things, so I'm sure he would be willing!
