Frito Corn Chip Dessert

Blessed with Grace

At the superbowl party my teens attended they had a dessert competition. My son (yes I said son) brought the Frito Corn Chip Dessert and won first place and a $10 gift card. YEAH!!!! So I thought I would share this dessert with all of you @ Tempt My Tummy found on the blog Blessed with Grace

Frito Corn Chip Dessert

10 1/2 oz. corn chips
1 cup white sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup creamy peanut butter
11 (1.55 ounce) bars milk chocolate

In a greased 10 x 15 inch pan, place the corn chips. In a saucepan, bring the sugar and corn syrup to a boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter until smooth. Pour this over the chip and smooth level. Pour this over the chip and smooth level. Place the chocolate bars in a single layer over the hot mixture and wait a few minutes until the heat melts them and then smooth the chocolate out to form a thin layer. Allow to cool and then break into pieces.

  5. Well, congratulations to your son!! Way to go. Sounds like it would taste similar to a crunchy Reeses cup. Great new texture. Thank you for also sharing this recipe with Save Room for Dessert at Our Krazy Kitchen.

In reply to your comment, Tamy decided to use a new linking system, and the link for participants is at the top of the Our Krazy Kitchen blog. I also added it to the bottom of my Save Room for Dessert post to try to make it easier to find. It's a great new system, which as you saw, I also adopted for my own blog at Joy of Desserts. :-) Thank you for participating in both of my memes, Save Room for Dessert, and Vintage Recipe Thursday.
