Heading back to school is never easy. The summer is over and so are the lazy sleep in days. Now, it is time to get back to school schedule. Doing this may be a bit harder than what we may think but if we try a few tips it may seem not as hard as we thought it might of been.
Get the first day off right with some planning. If parents and children alike are overtired the formula will not work out well. Overtired children are not able to loose as easy. and behavioral issues may pop up as well. School age children need any where from 8 to 11 hours of sleep per day. Plan ahead so that all get a good night of sleep the night before the first day of school. Our family has all ready started bed times that will be present during school year so that we can get used to them.
In preparation of the extra busy work (homework) that will be done after school to make up for what does not get done at school or for independent work be ready to create a special area. A set that has been designated as "the homework spot" makes it easier to keep all involved. A drawer or bin with extra supplies like pencils, paper, calculator, and crayons will help keep it all organized.
