Wildflowers of Southern Illinois

This wildflower resembles a pair of white pants hung on a clothesline and you can easily I.D. this flower. This wildflower has "fern-like" leaves that spread out below the breeches.

This little Appalachian beauty has delicate cut leaves that sometimes glisten with scores of tiny dew drops in mornings. Some believe that this plant may contain medicinal purposes. The plant is considered toxic and juice of the plant can cause dermatitis in some.

This beautiful flower can been found in a lovely area known as Rim Rock here in southern Illinois.

Be on the look out as we continue to share more beautiful wild flowers
