Protect your Pets During Holiday Season

Christmas is in the air and that often means that we will be eating foods that may not always be around. That is often delicious but can be a bit dangerous to our pets. I thought I may just summarize some of the foods to watch out for this holiday season

  • Both dogs and cats can end up with gastrointestinal inflammation if they digest ham or prime rib. The reason is their high fat content.
  • Baked good often contain butter or oil and may contain chocolate as well. Butter and oils are not recommended for our pets and chocolate can be toxic to dogs and cats. Chocolate can also lead to hyperactivity, stomach upsets, cardiac issues White chocolate is a bit safer but it is not recommended to offer pets much at all.
