Beer Battered Fish Burger #Recipe

Beer-battered fish burger

3/4 cup self-raising flour
1 cup chilled beer
oil, for deep frying
500 gram boneless, skinless firm white fish fillets, cut into 8
4 turkish bread rolls, halved, toasted
2 tomatoes, sliced
1 bunch rocket, washed, trimmed

In a medium bowl, whisk the flour and beer together until smooth. Season to taste.
Heat oil in a large heavy-based saucepan on high until a drop of batter sizzles immediately it is added.
Dip fish into batter, a few pieces at a time, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully lower into oil. Cook 4-5 minutes, in 2 batches, until cooked through and golden brown. Drain on paper towel.
To make tartar sauce: in a small bowl, combine all ingredients. Season to taste.
Fill Turkish bread with fish fillets, tomato slices and rocket. Spoon tartar sauce over and serve hot.
