National Donate Life Month

April is National Donate Life Month. It was established by Donate Life America in 2003. Each April the date is celebrated with planned local, regional and national activities to help encourage Americans register to be organ donors. In addition it is a great time to celebrate those that have saved lives through the gift of donation.

The 2019 theme is inspired by bicycles and the slogan "Life is a Beautiful Ride".  Just like bikes that come in all styles, shapes and sizes that are created to support the rider and converting their energy into motion. Much in the same way those that give organ, eye and tissue donations give individuals hope, support and strength to those waiting for organs, recipients and donor families. Simply by registering as a donor offers hope by many.

The month of April is a great chance to consider how you can help in this lifesaving activity through donations or registering for living donation.
