Make Your Own Laundry Detergent

I saw a quote the other day that stated
                      wash clothes for 30 minutes
                      dry clothes for 60 minutes
fold clothes 6 to 7 business days

Maybe it is not this bad but for the most part it seems like that. The other complaint I have about doing laundry is the cost of laundry detergent. The price just seems to go up and up. We have decided to compromise and make our own laundry detergent . The ingredients are located in the same section of laundry detergent but for the most part are much cheaper in price.

Homemade Laundry Detergent
1/2 cup borax
1/2 cup washing soda
1 cup Fels Naptha soap, grated (1/2 bar)

Mix together and store in an airtight container.
Use 1-2 tablespoons of detergent per load. It does work good on good and stinky dirty clothes.
If you choose to you can substitute Ivory for the Fels Naptha soap.
