For some reason reading the post located under this meme brought my thoughts to my father and his favorite song or at least one of them I know he sang this one like a hero

Tucker Blair review




I was recently lucky enough to win this great headband from the blog life in a house of blue. I love it and could not believe how well it was made. The construction of this headband is terrific. friday five

1. If your car/bike is wrecked (if your mass transit service goes belly-up), do you know what you would do to replace it, perhaps even have the car or bike you want already picked out?


I love it that we are able to walk to most things other wise we bum rides (which I hate) we are going without gas for a little while now

2. A client/friend gives you a lottery ticket, which wins you a prize worth (after taxes) ten times as much money as you earned/received last year. What will you do with it?

I would share with who ever gave me the card and then give 10 percent to tithes and then do something really nice since it is found money I can do with it as I planned not as I need to do

Frugal Friday


I am joining in on the frugal friday fun with a couple of stand by recipes that we love


Shepherds pie (our style)

2 lb hamburger

1 can corn

instant potatos prepared


Season and brown hamburger,(add onion if you wish), Layer browned meat into a casserole, pour corn over top of that and layer potatoes (may use leftover potatoes) over top. Season top and bake for about 25 minutes in 400 degree oven. (may top with cheese if wish) Serve


Cheese Dip (our style)

2 lb velvetta

1 can rotella tomatoes

1 c shredded cheese

1 lb hamburger browned


Mix all in crockpot High til cheese melts and all is warm. Serve

This verse means alot to me when it comes to this week. This week we have seen many problems in both mine and my husbands family and yet we stay strong with the Lord Jesus and help our family members in all that we can. So this week I am thankful for

1. A Lord who will listen to my crys even when I am not sure exactly sure what my hear desires
2. A Lord who will raise us up when we are down
3. A family that has struggles but battles through these struggles together
4. Strength that is provided by our Lord to meet our daily needs

Al Dente Pasta review




When I was a kid I loved sports and as a matter of fact still do. I loved to play softball and in fact was on a great team. The team was sponsored by cox's hardware store (no longer even in existence) and we were great as I remember even getting first place trophy that summer. Our coach believed that our secret was the meal that we would eat right before the game. She ordered (LOL) us to eat pasta as the meal right before the game. This only helped to further my great love of pasta.
Recently, I was able to try the Al Dente brand pasta and let me tell you definitely worth a second try. This was great tasting and good for us. Even the kids who are often picky loved it. Al Dente Pasta company was created in 1981 by Monique Deschaine. Monique was determined to create the "perfect" pasta. Through this determination Monique would spend many hours in the kitchen of a friends restaurant testing and retesting pasta recipes in the search for the perfect pasta that she was after. This work payed off as she found the perfect recipe for the perfect pasta that she now sells at the AL Dente pasta company. The reason she feels it is the best is because the pasta contains the best ingredients she could find. Each bag possess 100% durum semolina flour and only 3/4 of an egg. Then the dough is hand feed through pasta roller followed by a slow drying process so that all the pasta dries evenly allowing each piece to be tender but firm that cooks in only 3 minutes.
As I read the bag of Al Dente pasta and saw that it said cooks in only 3 minutes I decided to put it to the test. What would the pasta be like cooking in only 3 minutes? My thoughts were not cooked. So as I dropped the pasta in the pan of boiling water I set the timer. Three minutes later I checked the pasta and guess what it was done. This is cool to a mom of six (6) children who has little time to cook meals. This was great and could be added to the quick meal list.


We received 3 bags of the great Al Dente Pasta and a jar of wonderful marinara sauce. I decided that night that I would fix a favorite recipe using the Al Dente ingredients. It is a simple recipe as even that night our family had several features on the table. To make this I would simply brown a lb of hamburger meat and mix it in with the noodles and sauce. Let me tell you because the pasta only took 3 minutes to cook this recipe did not take as much time and the great ingredients even boosted the taste of even this simple recipe. Can you imagine what it would do to your great recipes?


Would you love to try this great pasta but been told to stay away from carbs or on a low carb diet? Al Dente Pasta accepted the challenge to find a great reduced carb pasta and succeeded. The wonderful taste and texture is still possessed by the Al Dente Pasta and the length of cooking time also remains at 3 minutes. Prepare pasta Drain Stir in cheese sauce and sliced up meat Top with shredded cheese if you wish and bake in oven 400 degrees for 30 minutes

Riley Roos shoes review




Riley Roo shoes don't you just love the name? I do. I not only love the name I love the shoes. The great styles for little girl like these shoes. Great color, Velcro strap and so soft and cute any child would love them.

They have that great leather look and once again a Velcro strap. I would admire these Riley roos and would be proud for my little man to strut his stuff around town in these.

totally talented tuesday

This week I wan to feature my totally talented son and my totaly talented granddaughter Katelynn. He is an all around sports star football, baseball, and wrestling as well as having a heart for God. My granddaughter is having a milestone in her life that of her 6 month old birthday. I am very happy that both of them are in my life.


Here they are together. MY football player holding his now 20 lb old niece during christmas season. I can tell you that she is the star of his eye. She will be a very spoiled child with my son and the rest of them that will give her anything that she wants but this little lady will get much guidance

pocket purifier review

Do you worry about those items that your little one places in their mouth? It seems that the first place that everything that a baby touches must go to their mouths. jack and lilly shoes review


Don't you just love little feet? I love little feet and love to find terrifically cute shoes to put on those little feet Jack and Lilly fits that bill really nicely. Since becoming a grandma I have had the opportunity to find several great items for our little granddaughter. Jack and Lilly shoes create some of the best looking shoes that I have ever seen. frugal meal ideas

I just saw this frugal meme on another blog and if it is scraping by you want to know about we do it every day. We feed our family of 8 on a food budget of $540 a month or $135 a week. Here is a great recipe that we found just the other day and everyone loves

Sloppy joe pizza
1 lb hamburger
can of sloppy joe sauce
pizza crust dough (can or homemade)
1 c shredded cheese

roll out pizza dough onto pizza pan. Brown hamburger. Drain. Stir in sauce. Layer meat over pizza dough Top with cheese and bake in 400 degree oven 15 minute

Polish Sausage Casserole
3 boxes of polish sausage casserole
1 pk polish sausage, sliced
1 c shredded cheese

Make macaroni and cheese Layer mac n cheese with sausage in a casserole dish top with cheese and bake 400 degree oven 30 minutes

monday menu


Monday Menu: this week the kids will not be home for any meal but snacks and supper Monday through Friday.

Breakfast Monday through friday will be my old stand by of coffee and toast

Lunch will be sandwiches


M tacos

T lasagna

W pizza casserole

Th shepherd pie

F polish sausage

S nachos and cheese

S fried steak, scallop potatos, peas, PB squares


supper sunday will be at church for big youth event

saturday may fix a brunch of pancake, sausage and potato skillet


Scallop Potato

1/2 c chop onion 5 c milk

1/2 c butter 10 potato,slice

1/2 c flour


Brown onion in butter Mix in flour Season Add milk Cook, stir thick and bubbly Cook 2 minutes from heat. Place 1/2 in greased 9x13 Cover with 1/2 sauce Repeat Bake 350 degrees Mix bake 30 minutes

Not me monday


The not me meme is a meme that was started by mcmama and you can read what mcmama and everyone else did or did not do as the case would be on the my charming kids blog.

This week has not seen me upset, suprised, delighted, proud and worried. No not me none of those feelings would ever go through my mind.
I was not upset at the fact that a form affecting my childs future as a student in a near by university was messed up because of me. No I would never fill out a form wrong. NOt me.
I was not a bit happy or suprised when I see that the number of hits my blog recieves as well as the comments that I continue to get are not increasing as time goes on. Not me I am not the little old gal who thought that her numbers would never grow and who would be interested in anything I had to say. Why that would not be me and I would not thank you all for visiting my blog.
I am not currently attending a month of special meetings for parents and teens called true love waits. I am not proud of my children for wanting to do this and I am not a bit proud of them in not following the way of the world. I do not thank God every day for everything that he has done for my family. (actually I do baste them in prayer daily).
I am not closing this blog with praises for God. No I would never do this or maybe I would :D

homemaker monday




I thought I would post one of the desserts that our children are looking forward to making this week. It is easy and they can do it by theirselves without help. Besides that although it is a dessert pizza and has sugar cookie baste. It is a great way to get the fruit in them as well. This is always the hit of the party.



FRUIT PIZZA

2 pkgs. cream cheese


1 roll refrigerated sugar cookie dough


1 tsp. vanilla


1/2 c. sugar (or to taste)


Assorted fruit suggestions: Kiwi, strawberries, mandarin oranges, bananas, black or blue berries


Spread cookie dough over pizza pan. Cook the crust as directed on wrapper. In a bowl, microwave cream cheese until soft. Add vanilla and sugar. Spread cream cheese mixture on top of cooled cookie. Cut and lay fruit in circles. Serve immediately
