First Juice Review and Giveaway

FIRST JUICE

With all the great blog questions of how to get veggies into your child's diet I think one of the best answer is to offer them something they love. Most children love juice and first juice is a great organic juice that is made with a bit of carrot juice. First Juice is not new on my blog if you would want to read a past post of where I shared about First Juice you can go here

First Juice is made up of fruit and vegetable mixed together with purified water. First Juice comes in 8 oz. bottles which contain 43% juice and a large bottle that contains 49%. The label states that the ingredients are fruit, water and vitamins. How great no sugar or other ingredients that we prefer our children not to have. Starting young children out building good healthy eating habits helps to foster those habits as they get older.

Taste is a bit different than other juices. While the teens thought it was great they noticed the lack of the sweetness. A great example of why starting toddlers out on First Juice is a great idea. Our family loves the 8 oz. spill proof reusable sippy top bottle. Perfect bottle for little hands as well as my sport players who love to take a bottle along with them to games and practice. I also love the 32 oz. bottles as I find the fit perfectly in the fridge door. Keeping the bottles here allows me to pull the bottle out easily for snacks or whenever a glass of juice is needed.

First Juice come in flavors that are a bit different sounding but taste great including banana carrot, blueberry purple carrot, peach purple carrot & apple carrot

Are you thirsting for some First Juice? Well that's great because one lucky Annie's Home reader will receiver their own delicious bottles of first juice.

To enter: visit the first juice website and come back here and let me know something that you learn there.

Lucky Puppy Online Review and Giveaway

Nothing but cute is exactly right. No this is not a company that caters to making cute little fluffy eared puppy dogs look great but rather to babies, toddlers, children, men and women. Lucky Puppy was created by long time friends Sandi Hochman and Jonathan Cathey who took their dog love a bit further and together created a company to cater to fellow dog lovers. With Jonathan's creativity and Sandi's love for puppies Lucky Puppy Online was born. As cute as Lucky Puppy Online is the greatness does not lay in its adorability in looks but rather in the fact that Lucky Puppy Online gives back to homeless dogs with every purchase made. Lucky Puppy Online helps to match stray dogs with loving families and partner with animal foundations that are both local and national to get the job done.

We received both an adult tee and a tee that is perfect for Princess. How super cute they are. Just take a look.

For every online order that Lucky Puppy receives they donate 15% to Paws and Learn Humane Education Center. You can help the animals that Paws helps care for by purchasing by Lucky Puppy.

I have a frustration that many young mothers will not understand yet. it is the frustration of how much and how long do you help your children. As I have stated I have one married daughter, 2 all ready in college, 2 more ready to go to college and one still in highschool. The expenss of when they were little is nothing like the expenses now. I find myself tightening the belt, making cuts in the budget etc... to continue to pay for my childrens college fees, phones, etc.. I wish there was a sheet somewhere that said how much and for how long we as parents are to pay. I want them to go to school and do good I just need to find a midle of what they need and want and what i am willing to pay for.
what are you frustrated over? share it here

Valentine Day Feed Me Books Friday

Photobucket

It being valentine day I chose 2 books that both me and the Princess could enjoy together. Princess is into board books and these 2 books could allow us to look at the pictures allow her to know how much I love her and we could both laugh , talk and giggle some more. Laughing has alot to do with our love for each other.

After reading together we could create some wonderful valentines like these.

Contact Paper Heart

•Clear contact paper
•Small pieces of paper, confetti, or tissue paper

Cut 2 identically sized pieces of contact paper Place paper, confetti, or tissue paper in a container Decide what the final shape of the project will be and get a pattern if needed Peel the back off of 1 piece of the contact paper

With your Toddler:

Place 1 piece of contact paper sticky side up in front of your toddler Allow toddler to stick paper, confetti, or tissue paper on the contact paper (without moving any of it!!) When he is finished, place the second piece of contact paper onto the first Trace (find a heart printable) or draw a heart shape onto the contact paper and cut it out
and always a favorite of my children was play dough. Here is a simple chocolate playdought that you can create and play with you lil sweetheart this valentine day:
Chocolate PlayDough

1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup salt
1/2 tablespoon cream of tartar
1 1/2 tablespoon cooking oil
1 cup boiling water

Stir ingredients together and mix well. Cook over low heat until dough forms a ball. When cool, mix with your hands. Store in airtight container. It will smell good enough to eat but without sugar in it kids will not want to taste it a second time!

Friday 5

1.What is your favorite blanket like?
2.What was the last thing you baked?

Friday Fragment : Valentine Messages

Mommy's Idea

Long week with little going on here at our house. Teens went to school here on Monday and since then have been out of school the rest of the week (2 snow days and 2 planned days off). Son did go to school to help put together the valograms that will be handed out on Monday. He shared with me that some of them were not so great and therefore were thrown out. (1) there was one sent by a girl a friend of his that had just broke up with her boyfriend she created a passage that was not so nice if you can only imagine (2) there was a fellow football player who sent a teammate the message "stay hard" now this can go two ways a manner in which is not proper or a fellow teammate that wants to stay strong in the game. Whatever the meaning it to was thrown out. Well thats about all that happened here besides the teens eating me out of house and home. Hopefully next week they will all be ready to return to school

what happened in your life this week? Share them over at the website Half Past Kissin' Time with Friday Fragments.

Aloha Friday : Valentine Message

Aloha Friday hosted on them An Island Life happens each and every Friday as Friday is the start of the weekend those in Hawaii take it easy and so the Aloha Friday meme is where bloggers post simple questions that require simple answers. Play along at An Island Life

All though there was no school yesterday my son spent the day at school creating vallograms. Vallograms are little notes that are attached to a hug, kiss, or crush soda that the students had purchased and sell to their classmates. They are able to choose what they want to say or to select little common verses. This practice has went on for a very long time I can remember sending little "be mine" and "I Love You" notes when I was in high school.

My question for you is:
What message would you send to your valentine today? Would it be with a hug, kiss or crush?

The Joy of Soap for review and giveaway

If you are like me the one thing that you love is a great smelling bar of soap. The Joy of Soap has just that great smelling soaps in many different scents. The Joy of Soap combines beauty practices and botanical ingredients from around the world and using modern science and natural ingredients develops bath and body products with oils and botanical that leave your skin clean, refreshed and rejuvenated. I found that the scent of soap is one that is strong and captivates your senses upon first inspection. Perhaps this is too strong for some but to me the scent is reinvigorating.

The Joy of Soaps group uses essential oils derived from flowers, leaves, seeds, roots and resins of plants. These essential oils naturally contain chemical compounds with antiseptic, analgesic, anti inflammatory and antiviral properties. Many other types of soap use perfumes and fragrances that are synthetic chemicals that have no medicinal or aroma therapeutic value. Fragrances are known irritants and can cause allergic reactions. It is often the fragrances that creates the rashes and skin problems that many notice after trying new soaps. Because the Joy of Soap does not have any this chance has been lowered. I can also tell you that a good bar of soap to me has to smell great and many store brands do not have a strong scent but the Joy of Soap bars have a scent that can be noticed from afar.

I have enjoyed the soap that we received and now The Joy of Soap would like to give one of Annie's Home readers a chance to have a sample of their own. One reader will be able to get 4 bars of their own.

To Enter: You must visit The Joy of Soap website and tell me which 4 are your favorite scents you would like if you were the lucky winner.

Very Good Sponge Cake - victorian recipe

very good sponge cake

Four eggs, one cup of flour (sifted), one cup of sugar (granulated), the juice of half a large lemon, or that of a small one; the grated rind of a lemon. Beat the whites of the eggs until they are stiff and dry, then add the sugar, beating well; then add the well-beaten yolks; then the rind and juice of the lemon; then stir in, very lightly, the sifted flour. Bake in a moderate oven.

(recipe from twilight bridge)

I just love how the victorian era recipes were simple to the point and the cook knew exactly what it meant.

Valentine Treats for the family to make together

Valentine Jello Jigglers

To make these easy jello jigglers, you will need 3 packages of flavored jello gelatin, 4 packages of unflavored gelatin, and 4 cups of boiling water. Boil the water in a pot. Add the flavored jello and unflavored gelatin slowly to the water. Stir until everything is dissolved. Then pour into lightly greased mold or baking dish. Place in refrigerator until jello sets up. You can either prepare these in heart shaped molds or you can use cookie cutters to cut the shapes out. If you use a mold you will want to use a butter knife to gently cut around the edges of the mold before you pop the jigglers out.
