Balboa Baby High Chair and Shopping Cart Cover Review

We all want to take care of our little ones in the best manner that we can. We love to pamper them when ever possible yet there are times whenever we may place our little ones in dangerous situations without being aware of it. For example, take the shopping cart. Just the other day while shopping with my husband I started to place the groceries on the checkout counter just to learn that blood from the hamburger had leaked all over the bottom of the cart and onto some of my can goods. While I am aware of the situation and the dangers that not washing the top of my cans before using may cause the next person to use that cart may not be aware of the possible dangers. Yes I took time and wiped it out but all I had was paper towels leaving dangerous particles behind possibly. Can you imagine allowing our children to play in an area we know is dangerous? No!!! I do not think so. That is why I love the Balboa Shopping Cart Cover. It helps us to ensure our little one is safe and sound even when we can not be sure.

The Balboa Shopping Cart cover also doubles as a High Chair Cover. The same soft, quilted Balboa Baby Shopping Cart Cover that provides a clean and secure environment for babies also helps to protect them from germs when dining at your favorite restarount. Although, I am sure that the restaurants try their best to keep highchairs clean and sanitary there is always that slim chance of germs being present where no one can see them That is why I like the Balboa cover because it provides 360 degree germ free zone for the baby. I am a grandma to one with one on the way and both of them deserve the care and protection to the highest. Some of the best features is that the cover can be installed using one hand, it comes with an extra long strap that helps to ensure safety for the baby and the cover can be folded up and tucked away in the diaper bag for easy storage and travel.

Buy: you can purchase the Balboa Shopping Cart and High Chair Cover from many great retailers including Target and Use this hand list to find a retailer near you.

Peace Love Mom

How wonderful it is to be a mother. I have had the great luxury of being a mother to six children and have helped raise even more along the way. I have learned as much from them as they have learned from me. I love the fact that Peace Love Mom comes together to Celebrate Motherhood. In the month of October Peace Love Mom wants to bring awareness to breast cancer by offering all pink tees for $25. We had the great chance to review a lovely pink tee of theirs and I have to say that it is one of my favorites.

I am a Happy Mom and happy to be a mom. The fact that every year there are 1,300 deaths in women 50 and under due to breast cancer is a very staggering thought. Many of these women may be moms, grandmas, sisters, aunts who have all affected someones life in an impact of their own. That is why Peace Love Mom is teaming up with many others to bring awareness of Breast Cancer to the forefront of knowledge. Breast Cancer is a killer that does not ask who , why , what , where or when it is a killer among the rich, poor, women and men. Wear a little pink and help bring awareness of breast cancer to your community as well.

Buy: you can purchase Peace Love Mom tees from their website located at where through the month of October all pink tees are $25

Win: Peace Love Mom wants to help you bring awareness of breast cancer to your community as well as help you Celebrate Motherhood and are offering one of Annies Home readers a pink tee of their own.

Caramel Corn recipe a fall favorite

Most of us love delicious caramel corn during the autumn and harvest time of year. It makes a delicious snack, great item for bake sales and a great treat for someone you love. Aloha Friday :
Wow!!! Its been a while since I have participated in Aloha Friday. It is one of my favorite memes where bloggers get to ask an easy question that other bloggers can give a simple answer to. But like I posted earlier I have been very busy in September. One thing that we have been doing is setting up shop again it is a consignment / antique shop that we both love. It is a lot of work to do though and keeps us very busy. My Aloha Friday question has a lot to do with our shop in that I would like to know:

What is it that you like to shop for? Is it clothing, do you have a hobby or collection or exactly what is it that if you could go shopping for anything you would love to shope for?

Budgeting Calories

Being a diabetic is not always easy to do. The truth is that I like to eat and what I like to eat is not always good for me nor is the amount I want to eat. So one thing I do is to seperate calories throughout the day. I am to have no more than 1,500 calories a day. So I seperate this in 3 different meals and then if I do not use all the calories I can allow myself a small snack. I know it is a bit crazy but it is what works for me

Thankful Thursday

hosted by the blog Spiritually Unequal Marriage
Wow!!! Where has the time went? It seems like yesterday was the first of September and here we are tomorrow going to start the second week of October. I have been so busy as of late but it has been a good busy. A good busy filled with laughter and tears as well as good friends, blog friends old and new friends. I am thankful that God has created a path of life for me created with wonderful friends. I am also so happy that he placed a life partner my husband and me together. Through it all we have been able to comfort each other, love each other and best of all have fun and laugh with each other. My children are all taking different rolls on as well. Feeling the urge to move out but yet wanting to stay at home as well. I am proud of all of my children more than words can express. My children are special to me and as a mother I know that i will always be there to help them whenever needed but I am also thankful that they are brave enough not to let life hold them back to take a stand and go for the goal. Oh how that does a mothers heart good. Life has created paths that were not so straight and narrow but somehow through it all we have been able to raise a beautiful family, have wonderful friends and our life feels so filled and for that I am thankful.

Homecoming Parad Had Lots of Red

This past week was homecoming at our local high school. Yeah!!! Since I graduated from the school here I loved seeing all my old friends come back to town. There was lots of great red in the parade as well.

always lots of great fire departments that take part in the local parades. In fact until I moved to Southern Illinois I had never seen so many fire trucks, police cars and EMS in parades. The crowd loves them and I know that my son in law does as well.

This is a picture of one of the homecoming queen candidates. I also love this picture because of the beautiful house in the background. I have always loved the large houses along main street.

Yet another homecoming queen candidate. Yes I was standing right across from this lovely large house. I am still admiring its beauty.

The American Flag is even more beautiful than the houses. The great red, white and blue may it wave proudly forever.

Get It Done Guy's book 9 Steps To WOrk Less and Do More

I am sure if it were possible we would all love to do everything that needs to be done in a day but do it easily and with less work. The Get It Done Guys 9 9th book is exactly that in the book he shares his thoughts on How To Work Less and Do More. Steve Robbins the host of    Quick and Dirty Tips network's Get-it-Done Guy podcast, an iTunes #1 business podcast is also known as The Get It Done Guy. Steve Robbins latest book How To Work Less and Do More was released on September 14, 2010. The nine steps covered in his book are:
  • Step 1. Live and work on purpose
  • Step 2: Stop procrastinating
  • Step 3: Conquer your technology
  • Step 4: Cultivate focus
  • Step 5: Stay organized (mentally as well as physically)
  • Step 6: Don't waste time. A lot of supposedly “on task” work
  • Step 7: Optimize!
  • Step 8: Build stronger relationships
  • Step 9: Leverage!
I was able to read some of the excerpts from Steves book and must say that I love the manner in which it is wrote. Straight forward with a bit of humor so that it does not seem boring or overwhelming. Starting any new adventure in life takes  a bit of attitude and a lot of work. I love the fact that the book How to Work Less and Do More is out there so individuals like myself who often get overwhelmed with the ongoings of life can receive a helping hand. Just listen to the video and you will see how not only young but how friendly, eager and wonderful advice that he can offer.

Some of his ideas are so right on like this one for Starting a Meeting on Time:
Quick Tip: How to Start Meetings On Time
There's nothing that's more of a time suck than waiting for people to show up to a meeting. You say, "The meeting will start promptly at 2pm," and people think they can be a few minutes late. After all, they aren't the one sitting in a conference room twiddling their thumbs waiting; you are.

Instead, schedule your meetings for odd times: 2:05pm, 11:13am. People remember the meeting time and they're there on time. I have no idea why it works, but I'll go check out some scientific journals and see what I can figure out. Meet you back here in 9 minutes, exactly.

You have to check this book out if you have any deadlines, appointments, responsibilities, organization or simply living life. It is a book that will help in my opinion nearly everyone. To check this book at go to
