You Are Medium Maintenance

Like everyone else, you have some things you are particular about.

You're not too annoying about it, and you're able to go with the flow most of the time.

You've learned to stand your ground on what matters but also make compromises from time to time.

You have good taste. Too bad not everyone shares it.

Friday Fave 5

Top 5 of the week is what we are to list in this meme:
  1. We attended a lovely homemade and cake party last week. We went as a family and all went quite well
  2. Last Saturday was graduation which went over quite well in fact I loved it. I am so proud of my daughter and all that she has done. I am also quite proud of the young adults that graduated with her as well
  3. Sunday was a great time as we sort of just loafed around the house and we were introduced to the newest member of the family. His name is Alex and he is the baby of on of my husband nieces
  4. Monday was memorial day and we finished off the leftovers from the weekend and had a great time. Oh how wonderful it is to have lots of family over and the leftovers you have when they are all done. I just tossed the few little bits that was left last night. It was terrific
  5. I have enjoyed this week and the great weather that we have had. We had a rain storm one night but in the summer when it does not get bad I just think of storms as being a way for God to cool it off just a bit.

Friday Fragments

Friday fragments allows us to list those little things that we have left out of our little blogging post for one reason or another
I have been avoiding my daughters bedroom for nearly a week now. I know that she will be coming home and not totally moving out for nearly a year. The problem is I miss her so badly it is not even funny. What will I do when she is not here. My little angel has graduated from highschool, will stay here a year and move on out on her own. Congratulations to her and I am her on the boat for as long as she needs me
My son, slammed his finger in a metal window yesterday. It smarted really good but was not all that bad. I did take a bit of skin and meat out of his hand. I believe we were lucky it was not worse than that. I believe that God was helping to hold that window up a bit. I have heard that people have had their hands cut off in accidents such as this
My other son who will be playing his senior year of highschool football this year brought home yet another sheet of equipment we will have to buy. Yes he does have his own money but if it is for school or sports they only pay 1/2 of the cost. Equipment is needed to keep them safe and I am happy to help out with this
School will be out in just a few more days. Oh the school year has passed so quickly and the next year will be double hard as 2 of them will graduate. One of them of course is my own son and the other my sisters child that I have raised since a tiny little baby. Oh how bitter sweet to see them grow up but also knowing that they were succesful in school.
The weather outside has been great. I hope to be able to do a bit of rumaging this weekend. I would love to find some great stuff and some items that are needed. If I do I will be sure to add that next week
Well want to add your own little tidbits or read others head over to the blog Half Past Kissin Time

Aloha Friday

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response

My question today is a little more thought provoking than many of my other questions have been.
My question for today is:
Who has been the most influential person in your life. If you don't care will you also share why

I will share with you one of the most influential and supportive individuals of my life. That person would be my dad. You see my dad would have celebrated his birthday on this Monday. He would not of asked for a cake but would of requested a pie to help him celebrate. Oh my dad was my friend, my supporter as well as the person who would bring me down to earth. I have many stories that I will be sharing with you on my blog in the next few days. Oh he was a very special person in my life and I want to share with you some of my favorite memories of him. So stayed tuned to hear more about him

For more Aloha Friday or to ask a question of your own go on over to the blog An Island Life

Focus Friday

Focus Friday

I appreciate the focus friday meme so much because it attempts to keep me on track. Believe me I need that. This next week will find me getting ready to go away with my hubby. Not for a romantic trip but one without the teens that live at home. We will be traveling to visit with my daughters family. I have no idea what she has planned for us but I will love it I am sure. Here at home I will need to get meals ready, house neat, laundry done etc... by thursday. My children are all old enought to take care of themselves the oldest being nearly 21 and the youngest will be 16 shortly. I will still have my spies here around the town to check on them though. But wish me luck as I prepare for this wonderful trip

Carolyns Kitchen Aprons Review

Carolyn's Kitchen aprons are super adorable and so much fun. What was that I just said? Yes, I did say and apron could be fun. Yes, I am aware that an apron is meant to work in. Carolyn's Aprons are very different. They are the aprons you put on after the work is done LOL. Whether it is to sport around to serve that dinner that you worked so hard on or to just look attractive for the one you love. Carolyn's Kitchen aprons mean fun to me.

Carolyn West has created these great aprons with fun and excitement in mind. Whether you purchase it for yourself, your friend, mom, sister, aunt or another who needs a little cheery motivation Carolyn's Kitchen aprons will fit the bill just fine. The vintage years of yesterday where Beaver's mom would wear her apron and gloves to do housework of all sorts may be gone but the fun and feeling of that lifestyle is still cherished by many. Carolyn takes the appeal aspect of the homy feeling of years gone by and mixes them up to create a style that women of todays world will appreciate.

Carolyn made this statement about creating her great aprons:
"I let my imagination run, and originated the embodiment of that 40's girl in the apron and gloves, living in our ultra modern age. Suzy Homefaker slaves over a hot microwave for minutes at a time, constant hostess to all, in and around her kitchen, enticing temptress to you know who, you know where."

Let me show you a few of the great styles available in the Carolyn's Kitchen Aprons:

Want to buy one of these great looks or possibly one of the other numerous styles visit Carolyn's Kitchen Website located at http://www.carolynskitchenonline.com/

Happy Green Bee Review

Are you looking for ways that you can keep your family happy, healthy and wise? Happy Green Bee will help you succeed with this as they care about you, your family and the earth. The manner in which Happy Green Bee does this is by using organically grown material. The cotton clothing that has been used in the past for many years contains toxic residues which often results in eczema and rashes on sensitive skin. The organically grown cotton does not use the toxic chemicals and results in a pure, breathable and more natural material. The softness of yester year before so many chemicals were used has been returned and can be found in products created by Happy Green Bee.

We received 4 pair of the softest socks that you have ever seen. They were great the colors of course were great looking and reflected to me the Happy Green Bee spirit. My granddaughter loved them or seemed to say that with her precious little smile. I can't wait til she can have a conversation and tell me exactly what she thinks, or maybe there are times I really don't want to know LOL.

Happy Green Bee creates very cute products. Among the list are:

Roxanne, the creator of Happy Green Bee and true environmentalist supports the environment through the way she lives as well. Roxanne has been awarded for her actions by being granted the nonprofit organizations in support of the environment and the arts and the second, an operating foundation, owns and maintains 70,000 acres of wilderness in the North woods of Maine. Roxanne is desires to help preserve the spirit and landscape of Maine Woods. Roxanne takes a fun spirited yet very ecological outlook to creating her clothes. She wants to create safe and sustainable, soft and stretchy, super silly, simply sensational styles.

snapp capps giveaway

SNAPP CAPPS

Any mother should be able to tell you how messy the average soda can is. Oh the invention of small bottles for childrens use was terrific but expensive. With the Snapp Capp the messiness is taken out of drinking soda from a can and replaced with a cheaper alternative than the small expensive bottles. Finally we have a way to reclose those once open always open drink cans. The Snapp Capp is a plastic re-closable tood devised to snap onto most 12 or 16 oz aluminum cans.

Most moms will pour the soda out of the can into an unamed container and often place the remainder of it in the fridge. Now what is in that container is unknown. By snapping the Snapp Capp on the top of the can we know what is in the can and there are no questions that need to be asked. With spring coming there will be more people working, picnicing and playing outside. There is one pesky little pest that is drawn to these cans of open drink more than any other that I can think of. In this area the bees seem drawn to the glorious drink fly into the can and when you take a drink you (1) swallow the bee or (2) stung in the mouth. I know many people who this has happened to. The Snapp Capp can prevent this terrible exposure to the underside of a bee.

Snap Capps come in a 3 pack. They come in 3 different colors They will help you save money by keeping the soda for a longer period of time before going flat. They are also cheaper than the alternative soda bottle. Simply rinse and reuse to sell

Win: Win a set of 3 snapp capps. Just right for picnics, fairs or summer going. You can win a set of 3 snapp capps and all that you have to do is leave me a comment letting me know what you would do with them if you win

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday hits this time following a graduation of my daughter and before the week of promotion in Sunday School. Let me share with you how wonderful it is to teach first graders about the Lord. I love children, perhaps that is why we have so many children LOL. I love to teach children about the Lord and stories of the bible. Each year I work at bible school and during the year I also teach first grade children Sunday School. These young children are mailable with an open mind and heart. The perfect time to share with them all about the stories of the bible. I felt led to this after sitting in church many years and hearing that they needed a teacher but there was no one available to do this. I then prayed about it and waited for an answer. Finally I believe I received the answer that I should take this position. I am entering into my third year of teaching first grade Sunday School. I see no end in site and will continue to teach until I can no longer do that or the Lord seems to say that is enough now let someone else lead. I am just so thankful that I was given the opportunity to not only teach my children about the bible but that I have the opportunity to teach other children the stories of Jesus as well.

But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.” (Mark 10:14)

Wordfilled Wednesday

“For YOU created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful I know that full well.” Psalm 139: 13-14

These words mean so much to me as i have watched my children grow and the new generation is being brought into this great world. He knew them before we ever did. He created them and then gave them to use to hold onto and love for a while. How wonderful the gift of a child is
