Brussels Sprouts



Take a quick look at it you may suggest that it is "cute mini cabbage" It is part of the cabbage family but brussel sprouts grow the same way starting from bottom up but they grow when the weather is cold outside when most do not think of gardening



Loaded with good nutritional value it only takes 1/2 cup to receive 81% of daily vitamin C in 28 calories. Brussels sprouts are also a good source of dietary fiber, vitamins A and K, folate, potassium, iron, manganese and more.

The cool season crop can be started from transplants in early spring. Growing season last about 90 days. The heat will leave the sprouts bitter and loose leaved. Good place to find Brussels sprouts are in the frozen food section or farmer markets
