Kansas Day



Kansas Day is held each year in the state of Kansas on January 29th. It commemorates the anniversary of the state of Kansas admission to the United States. Kansas officially became a state of the union on January 29th 1861. 

On Kansas Day you will see a large celebration that includes school field trips and projects that relate to the history of Kansas. Kansas state house in Topeka will hold special visits during the special day. The state song  of Home On The Range will be performed as well. The governor of Kansas and members of the Kansas legislation will offer special proclamations of the anniversary date as well.
