Liza Minnelli was born on March 12 1946. Blessed to be the daughter of Judy Garland and movie director Vincente Minnelli.
Liza grew up around the MGM studios while her parents worked long hours. At fourteen months of age Liza made her film debut in the movie In the Good Old Summertime (1949). A few years later her parents divorced and her mother re-married and gave Liza a brother and a sister.
At the tender age of sixteen Liza was on her own in New York City, struggling to begin her career in show business. She would first appear in "Best Foot Forward" in 1963. She would then appear with her mother in a sold out show at the London Paladium. Liza would meet her first husband a friend of her mothers in London as well.
Award season would not forget Liza as she won her first Tony at the age of 19 and an Academy Award at 23. The future would prove to be successful as well. Film, Stage and Music would all enjoy time with Liza. Her marriages would be many but divorces seemed to follow as well. Her duet time with Frank SInatra and Sammy Davis Jr in concerts and T.V. shows as well were welcomed by her fans.
Tabloid stories of drug abuse and ill-health were not so nice. Her life was very much in the fast lane and while in later years it slowed her fans still loved to see her and cheered her on.
