Today, September 4th, is National Wildlife Day. The day was founded in 2005 in memory of animal lover Steve Irwin. The idea was to carry forward Steve's love of animals and conservationist skills and help bring awareness to the endangered animals. The battle to cut the number of endangered animals to be rescued and preserved is a battle that the National Wildlife Day brings awareness to. Zoos and outstanding animal sanctuaries and organizations around the world are trying to do all they can to help preserve the planet's animals as well as bring education about conservation. Children are targeted on this special day as they are the care takers of tomorrow.
While children are targeted National Wildlife Day is for everyone. It is the chance to stand up for the right to fight for animals. Animals do not have a voice so we all become their voice. Today, think about visiting your local zoo, donate to worthy wildlife rehabilitation sanctuaries, and think of ways you can make a difference in the lives of our beloved wild animal friends.
