Spiritual Sunday : Goal setting

Happy New Year to you all. I am sure that if you are like most you have either set upon some resolutions or you may be like me and decide some goals you would like to reach in 2011. Whether you have resolutions or you set goals is up to you one thing that you should always keep in mind upon deciding anything in your life is to take all matters in prayer. When God created each of us he had a plan in mind of what we would be like, do, etc... he knows all but often we overlook, or forget this fact and forget to include him in plans for our lives. Many times we would be happier if we had taken the time to pray about decisions we make in life instead of taking all into our own hands and making decisions

Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes James 4:14

James tells us in this verse that we are only here for a short period of time and we do not know what tommorow will bring or even if we are promised a tommorow. The plans that we make may not happen at all for it is God's will that we live to see another sunrise and to reach the goals that we set.

Say "If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or do that" James 4:16

We should take decisions and goal making into prayer in my humble opinion it is the only right and smart thing to do. So as you create a list of goals or resolutions perhaps more important than what you want in your life is considering through prayer how the Lord would have us to life.
