Help Others To Collect Crayons

August is a crayon collection month. It is a great chance for you to help others. Your children have a way to be involved as well. Simply collecting crayons that have been used and left behind by restaurants, doctor or dentist office or other businesses can help others. Here are some great tips from Crayon Collection.org

By simply asking your local kid-friendly restaurants to help out you
can make a huge difference in the lives of children and make a big
impact on the environment.
Step 1: Next time you dine at your favorite kid-friendly restaurant
ask the manager if s/he will collect the like-new crayons diners leave
behind during the month of August.
Step 2: Return 3-4 weeks later to pick up the crayons the restaurant
has collected for you.
Step 3: Take the crayons back to your school and use them
throughout the school year. We even have a Crayon Curriculum for
fun and interesting projects!
Don’t forget to share! Please inspire others to do the same and use the
hashtag #GotCrayons!
Crayon Collection is dedicated to reducing the amount of crayons
thrown away each year in restaurants. Those crayons can be donated
to Title 1 schools or Head Start programs. The crayons stay out of
landfills where they will never decompose and get into the hands of
children who need them. Everybody wins!
