Apples and nutmeg mean morning to me. While these two flavors and scents are my favorites in the cooler fall weather they inspire the thoughts of a cooler day when the heat is hot in the mid summer. Hope you enjoy
◦2 cups baking mix
◦2 tsp. ground cinnamon
◦2 tsp. ground nutmeg
◦2 eggs
◦1 1/2 cups milk
◦6 tbsp. butter, melted
◦1 cup peeled apples, chopped
In a large bowl, combine the biscuit mix and spices. Combine the eggs and milk in a separate bowl. Add the egg mixture to the dry mixture and stir until smooth. Stir in butter and apple. Bake in a preheated waffle iron until golden brown.

Annie,
I saw the barbeque sauce recipe, and it looks delish! We can't do anything that has artificial flavors or "natural flavors". We react with lack of focus, migraines, and irritability sometimes. I wanted to comment (Wobble Over Wed) even though this is a different post!! Thanks for your comment :) I'll always reciprocate!
HI Annie! Oh these sound so delicious and flavorful! I love waffles but had to give up my waffle iron because it was non-stick and that affects my parrots. I have been looking for a good old fashioned cast iron waffle griddle but to no avail so far! I will give this lovely recipe a try though as a pancake because I think it would work too! Thanks so much for sharing it with us on the hearth and soul hop! All the best, Alex
