Apples and nutmeg mean morning to me. While these two flavors and scents are my favorites in the cooler fall weather they inspire the thoughts of a cooler day when the heat is hot in the mid summer. Hope you enjoy
◦2 cups baking mix
◦2 tsp. ground cinnamon
◦2 tsp. ground nutmeg
◦2 eggs
◦1 1/2 cups milk
◦6 tbsp. butter, melted
◦1 cup peeled apples, chopped
In a large bowl, combine the biscuit mix and spices. Combine the eggs and milk in a separate bowl. Add the egg mixture to the dry mixture and stir until smooth. Stir in butter and apple. Bake in a preheated waffle iron until golden brown.

Annie,
ReplyDeleteI saw the barbeque sauce recipe, and it looks delish! We can't do anything that has artificial flavors or "natural flavors". We react with lack of focus, migraines, and irritability sometimes. I wanted to comment (Wobble Over Wed) even though this is a different post!! Thanks for your comment :) I'll always reciprocate!
HI Annie! Oh these sound so delicious and flavorful! I love waffles but had to give up my waffle iron because it was non-stick and that affects my parrots. I have been looking for a good old fashioned cast iron waffle griddle but to no avail so far! I will give this lovely recipe a try though as a pancake because I think it would work too! Thanks so much for sharing it with us on the hearth and soul hop! All the best, Alex
