Pine Cone Bird Feeder and Pine Cone Christmas Ornament you can make with your toddler

Make a peanut butter bird feeder will allow you to teach your little one about birds and also about giving. You can make a pine cone peanut butter bird feeder to give a gift to the birds. Toddlers love to watch birds and will spend time looking out the window bird watching.

You will need a large pine cone, 1/2 c peanut butter, 18 inch piece of yarn or string, and 1/2 c bird seed per cone.

to make bird feeder:

Step 1:
Wrap one end of twine around the base of a large pine cone. Tie securely, leaving about 10 -inches free to tie to tree branch.
Step 2:
Spread about 1/2 cup Skippy® peanut butter onto the pine cone.
Step 3:
Place the birdseed on a piece of newspaper. Roll coated pine cone into the birdseed.
Step 4:
Hang from a tree branch for birds to snack on.

Pine cones can also be decorated and created into a Christmas tree ornament. Toddlers can create their own ornament that they can be proud of. Allow them to pour glue on the pine cone and then allow them to sprinkle holiday colored glitter on the pine cone. You can then attach a ribbon at the end to create an ornament when dried.
