Our family has loved visiting and playing at parks for years. The Governor of New York in 1686 declared that part of all vacant areas of land should be cared for , and created into city parks. Thirty plus years later and the total of parks and gardens total in the thousands all over the world.
When at the park try some of these fun filled family activities
- Play a game of tag, its a great way to get two or more players participating in one activity. one person is normally it and they chase the other kids. The game is a great way for children to release energy and offers great fitness as well
- How about a game of frisbee. Frisbee is a trademark name of a game using a flying disk. It is ideal for older children. Whether you simply throw the frisbee back and forth or gather the whole gang up to play ultimate frisbee that results are the same lots of fun.
Every year on the first Saturday in July a day is set aside to celebrate the National Hop a Park day. It's a time to get away from the technology in the world and take a trip into the green spaces and public parks in your own community.
