•2" Styrofoam ball
•Acrylic paint - red, orange, green, purple, yellow
•Paint brush
•Crystal glitter *
•Serrated knife (such as a steak knife)
•2 1/2" Piece of thin wire (approximately 30 gauge)
•White glue (such as Elmer's or tacky glue)
•Toothpick
Using a knife you will want to cut a piece off of the styrofoam ball in order to make a flat spot. This will be the bottom of the gumdrop In order to get the shape of the ball to look more like a gumdrop you will want to squeeze the ball to form it. After shaping the ball you will want to use your choice of paint to paint the bottom of the gumdrop While it is wet sprinkle with glitter The toothpick will come in handy here as you can stick the toothpick through the bottom of the gumdrop and hold the gumdrop to finish painting. Dont forget to sprinkle with glitter while paint is still wet this will make it look as if the sugar is glistening like on a real gumdrop To help the gumdrop dry without smearing stick the toothpick into a styrofoam block, or cardboard box with hole poked in it. Take a small piece of wire and fold it in half in order to make a hook by twisting the ends together to attach to the gumdrop you have made dip the twisted end of the wire in white glue and stick into the gumdrop.
