Celebrate Ground Hog Day Events

Groundhog Day : the day the groundhog comes out of his warm home and depending on if he sees his shadow also determines if there will be 6 more weeks of winter or not.

Why not have fun with your child on this wonderful day. First you may want to explain to him what Ground Hog Day is in case they either (1) don't know or (2) can't remember

• Using a lamp and paper trace each others shadows
• use brown play dough and create groundhogs
• create a groundhog puppet using paper cup, or toilet paper roll
• create a groundhog mask
• role play what the groundhog may do when he comes out of his hole

Whatever you do just have fun because after all it is either the end of winter or the start of more great winter fun
