Up to 12% of all species of birds may be at risk of becoming extinct in the next century. Humans may have helped some species to grow and stay strong but there are many others more than 100 species of birds that have gone extinct through history.
With spring here now is a great time to get out there as a family and do some bird watching. Those beautiful winged creatures may need a bit of help from you as well. The natural habitat of these beautiful winged creatures may need a bit of help. Building a fun bird feeder or bird house is great treat to our bird friends.
Here are the supplies needed to make the feeders:
Bread
Peanut Butter
Cookie Cutters
Bird Seed
Twine or string
Place a slice of bread on a cutting board. Place the cookie cutter on the center of the bread and push down. The cutter should go all the way through the bread.
Poke a small hole at the top of the cut out shape using a paper straw. The twine will go through hang the feeders outside. Let the cutouts dry on the cutting board overnight. The bread will harden Flip the bread over once so it will harden evenly. After the bread hardens use a butter knife to spread the peanut butter on the bread.
