1 round loaf sourdough bread
1 cup mozzarella cheese
1/3 cup mini pepperoni
1/4 cup melted butter
1 tea. minced garlic
1 tea. Italian seasoning
1 cup marinara sauce, for dipping
Cooking Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 F.
Line a baking sheet with two 24-inch long sheets of foil, cross wise, and leave the overhang.
Slice the bread making 5 cuts one way, and 5 cuts the other way, being sure to cut nearly to the bottom, but careful NOT to cut all the way through. You want to make a grid of pieces that can be ripped off, but still intact.
Place the bread on the foil covered baking sheet.
Stuff the mozzarella and mini pepperonis in the cracks evenly with your hands.
Combine melted butter, garlic, and Italian seasoning.
Drizzle mixture all over the bread, making sure it goes into the crevices as well.
Take the overhand of foil and use it to loosely cover the bread.
Bake at 400 F for 20 minutes with the foil on.
After 20 minutes, pull the foil down, and bake another 5-10 minutes, until the cheese is completely melted and bread is golden brown.
Tear pieces off and dip into warmed marinara sauce. Enjoy!
While I think this is a great bread to serve long side pizza what do you like to serve as a meal on the side of pizza??
