Atrial fibrillation takes place in the heart's two upper chambers. They begin to beat chaotically and irregularly out of control with the two lower chambers. of the heart. This process often results in heart palpitations, shortness of breath and weakness. Atrial fibrillation is not normally life threatening however, it is a serious medical condition that may require emergency treatment. Episodes are not always present and may come and go but others may develop episodes that do not go away and require treatment of medication and other interventions to alter heart's electrial system.
Signs of atrial fibrillation inlude dizziness, weakness, and fatigue. Life style changes, medication and sometimes procedures such as a pacemaker are needed.
