Give away and charity help
I recently visited an island review and read a post about how the site share something sweet is helping to stomp out hunger. From a low income family I know how hunger can affect a family. The children are the ones that I worry about most. Many people believe that we are doing well but the truth be known we are just praising Jesus and counting our pennies in a different budgeting way. But you should visit both blogs to help hunger and also enter to win Ferrero choclates. Ferrero is teaming up to donate $1 for the cause for anyone who visits their facebook site. thankfulness
I am thankful for several things today.
I am thankful for my grandma who taught me lots of things even if I didn't know at the time I was learning. It seemed that she was strict on me but now that I look back on it she was teaching me things that I would use in the future and I do. I can remember my dad telling me that I was alot like my grandmother because of how I took care of my house, my children and gave all the praise to God. My mother has often commented on things that I do that my grandmother used to do that. SO today I would like to list the things I am grateful my grandmother taught me
cooking, she always loved to cook and so do I
saving, I never knew that she was so thrifty my mother pointed this out that both me and her knew how to save money
cleaning, she was always tidy and i have had people to comment that they could not believe how nice my house was kept with all the children that I have
serving, she was always serving others and I desire to do for others as well whether family, church, community or other
praising God, I will never forget how she sang in church I loved it even if it was not always on key she praised God regardless
those are a few of the things that I am thankful that my grandmother taught me

teacher gifts
My children who are all very close to their teachers decided that they would like to give a special gift to each of them. Well, we are a bit low on money this year and I was not sure what to do so this is what we did.
I prepared peppermint bark and snickerdoodles, wrapped them both in wrap and placed them in a coffee cup with a nativity scene ornament. I cant wait to see what the teachers think. As far as gifts for ladies in my sunday school I am making each of them a stocking out of felt sewed together and placing a candy cane in each one.
I wish I had a camera so I could show you all.

cornflake wreaths
I am also listing this under making a happy home monday over at As for me and my house we wil serve the lord
We will be making cornflake wreaths tonight after supper. They are so easy yet so fun to make. Here is the recipe if interested.
1/2 cup butter
4 cups miniature marshmallows
1 teaspoon green food coloring
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups cornflakes cereal
1 (2.25 ounce) package cinnamon red hot candies
Microwave marshmallows and butter on High for 2 minutes. Stir, then microwave on High for 2 minutes more. Stir. (This can be done in a double boiler if one doesn't have a microwave.)
Add and mix quickly the coloring, extracts, then cornflakes. Drop by spoonfuls in clumps on greased wax paper and decorate with 3 red hots each.
Once cool, transfer to lightly greased serving/storage tray with lightly greased fingers.
