World Blood Donor Day

Every year on the 14th of June countries around the world will celebrate World Blood Donor Day. The first year of the event was 2004 the goal was to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products. This day is also a day to thank blood donors for the life saving gifts of blood.

Blood is needed for many medical services as well as emergencies. Both my daughter and mother required blood after giving birth to their children. Take a look at the breakdown of a few procedures and how much blood is needed to perform.

By donating blood you are a hero. You are saving lives.

If the warm feeling inside this provides is not enough take a look at a few of the rewards you receive as well"
