beautiful flowers Crocosmia

Crocosmia are part of the iris family. Like Iris they grow from bulbs. They are easy to grow and normally grow two to four feet tall. The tube shaped flower colors include red, yellow, orange-yellow and orange with splotches. Crocosmia bloom from July to October and grow well in flower gardens or in containers and planters.

Plant the crocosmia bulbs in the fall for blooms the following spring. Crocosmia seeds can be started inside and transplanted outdoors in late spring. Three or four years after growth you can dig the bulb up, divide in the cooler fall weather. Splitting and replanting allows them more space to grow big and bright blooms next year.
