Many bible stories including the Israelites flight to Egypt as well as Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus included one animal the donkey or other wise known as ass. The day of the ass has been celebrated since 1000 but it is not without controversy, The Catholics have publicly denounced the day of awareness in 1460.
Early in history donkeys were domesticated and used to make many journeys seem shorter and help in many domesticated chores. It was not until the late 1920s that miniature donkeys were bought to the United States.

ReplyDeleteAs for the donkey, yes they are awesome animals, In Transkei, in South Africa they are still being used for helping to carry loads of stuff in bags hung over them.
