Organize the Freezer

It is important that frozen food is kept at a level that food stays solidly frozen. It is important that the freezer door does not open frequently. If possible do not add to many items to the freezer at one time this will help keep the freezer level the same not adding too many warm items at one time.

Labels are important for organization and to ensure that you reach for the right item when needed Items in the freezer should fit snugly together. Excess air can lead to freezer burn Proper freezer containers should be selected. Bread bags, plastic wrap and deli containers are not proper freezer containers because of the amount of oxygen they let in.

Time to Organize Your Freezer;

• go through what is in your freezer toss expired foods and choose to give away foods that you and your family will not use
• divide items into groups such as chicken, beef, veggies etc..
• make a list of what you have in your freezer
