Teaching Kids TO GIve Back

Teaching kids to give back is often best done by example. If they see the family doing things to give back to others and show appreciation then they will know how that feels and want to do something their selves. Here are some great ideas of how they can get started on their own:

  • shelters need cats and dots to be played with, walked and socialized. Children may be perfect for this consult your local shelter
  • Make decorations to help decorate the doors of a nursing home or give to elderly neighbors. This is perfect for children with good art skills
  • Care packages can easily be created for military forces. Have the children shop, create and add thank you notes to each kit.
  • can food drives are often going on around the holidays help your children select can goods from your pantry or store to give to those that are in need
