Simplicity is the Key



Hopefully, you had a choice to escape from the technology world and take a deep breath to enjoy the world today. If so then you knowingly or unknowingly took part in National Simplicity Day. The day honors Henry David Thoreau who was an advocate of living the simple life. A number of books have been authored by Thoreau on the subject.



Today's world is more complicated than ever before. We are surrounded by mobile phones, laptops, and more gadgets from the tech world than ever before. At times I simply have to unwind and head away from it all. My sanctuary is the river, I love to head down to the banks and sit and watch it peacefully flow.



If you were unable to escape today perhaps tomorrow or truly any day is perfect to find a place to escape. For some it may be rare experience to find some true peace an quiet area perfect for thinking. If you have a simple place to escape where is it??



More about Henry David Thoreau:
An American, essayist, poet, philosopher, abolitionist, naturalist, tax register, development critic, surveyor, and historian, those are all those jobs that Thoreau had experience in. The author of the essay "Civil Disobedience" he argued that disobedience to an unjust state. His book "Walden" is a book on the subject of simple living in ones natural surroundings. All together Thoreau penned more than 20 volumes including books, articles, essays, journals and poetry.

Henry David Thoreau was a well known abolitionist. Creating lectures that attacked the Fugitive Slave Law and defending the abolitionist John Brown. Many political figures including Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi have looked back on the lessons and lectures left by Thoreau and found their own person
