May Is National Pet Month
National Pet Month began in England 20+ years ago. In England it is celebrated in April and in the United States the theme is celebrated in May. National Pet Month was created to promote the benefits of pet ownership, support pet adoption, promote responsible pet ownership, increase public awareness of services that are available from professionals who work with animals and to raise awareness of the value and contribution to society of service animals.
There are many issues that National Pet Month helps bring to the forefront. There are many animals that are living at animal rescue shelters that need furever homes. Pets bring out the best in those that love them. Giving TLC to an animal in need of fostering offers warmth toward ourselves and others. Doing something good always is a reward on its own.
Want a pet for your family?? Try to decide before getting a pet which would be best for your family. Are there any special requirements for the pet you select?? There are many pets that are out there and lots of information on the internet that can help you find the right choice for your family.
If you are or become a pet owner please make sure your pet enjoys a nutritious and well balanced diet Not all pet food is the same or meets the same qualities.
A visit to the vet will help you keep up with your pet health issues. Some breeds are prone to specific ailments As the pet owner you are their advocate since they can not speak for their selves.
Each year there are over 2 million animals that are euthanized after entering animal shelters. This number includes both dogs and cats. Spaying or neutering your pet can help prevent much of this suffering.
