Carrots Come In Rainbow of Colors

Colored carrots seem to be making the lime light. The grocery stores have not spot lighted the rainbow of carrots yet farmer markets have had a dramatic increase in popularity more recently.

The early 2000s began an introduction to the "not orange" carrots. The first to be introduced were red, yellow and purple. In the beginning the colored carrots offered a harsh not really carrot taste. Carrots are available in a number of colors ranging from white and yellow to very dark purple. The favorite color is still one of a bright orange. Like color shape of a carrot comes in varities as well. The most common carrot is long and taper to a point. Others can be cylindrical in shape and yet others short and stubby or round.
