Charles Augustus Lindbergh was an American aviator. He is most famous for making the first solo nonstop flight across the Atlantic Ocean on May 20-21, 1927. Many other pilots had crossed the Atlantic before him but Lindbergh was the first to do it alone nonstop. The feat would place Lindbergh in the history books and earn him international fame. The press gave him the nicknames like "Lucky Lindy" and "Lone Eagle"
