Peppermint Bark

When I first made this recipe it was out of necessity we were not doing well and the children still expected to make Christmas candy. In order not to disappoint them I had some almond bark that i had bought some where probably on sale and I had some extra candy canes that we did not put on the treat and made candy cane almond bark. Now it is loved by everyone and sold for high prices it is very easy you just have to break up your candy cane in tiny bits and mix into your melted almond bark. Spread out on greased or wax paper lined cookie sheet Allow to dry and break into pieces.

  • 6 squares of almond bark
  • 9 candy canes, smashed
In a medium microwave safe bowl, add the squares of almond bark. Place in the microwave and heat it 30 second at a time on 50% power until melted and smooth.

Place the candy canes in a ziploc freezer bag and crush them with a mallet of rolling pin. Once the bark has melted, stir in the crushed candy canes.

Get a large cookie sheet and line it with wax paper. Pour the bark on top and spread with the back of a large spoon. Chill til set.

Once set, break apart with a knife. You can break it in even pieces or go the messier route. It doesn't matter! They're pretty and tasty no matter what shape they take on.
