Christmas Greetings Around The World

We attended a Christmas Around the World Festival. It was a blast and we learned many things about the different countries as well. To celebrate the great time we had I want to share with you how many different ways a Christmas greeting may be given.



Merry Christmas is the greeting most often shared in the United States, Canada, England, Antarctica, as well as Jamaica, Fiji, the Cayman Islands and Christmas Island.

Ireland offers you a Nollaig Shona Dhuit!

Feliz Natal is the greeting offered in Brazil in South America to Indonesia. Portugal and other Portuguese speaking African Countries offer you a Boas Festas as well. 

Feliz Navidad! is not only the greeting offered in a popular Christmas song but is also the greeting of choice in nearly every Spanish Speaking country. Mexico and Central America, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. South American countries of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela all offer you this Christmas greeting as well. 


Joyeux Noël! is the greeting choice of the Christmas season for France and many parts of Canada as well. Many African nations also share this greeting. 

Zalig Kerstfeest! is the greeting of choice in Dutch speaking countries. This greeting is one offered by those living in Belgium and the Netherlands. 

The greeting Buon Natale! is Italian for Merry Christmas. The greeting is said with gusto iin places such as San Marino and Libya.

In the Middle East countries of Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Syria and more offers the Christmas tiding of Milad Mubarak!
