Give Back This November

During the year our family finds ways to try to help out and give back. I wish I could say that our family was always on the giving side but through the years I have seen our family on both the giving and receiving ends. Many individuals that helped our family when we started out are now oldeer and are being helped by others like our own family. I believe that is what a community is. Someone is always there to offer help when it is needed.

Have you ever thought much about community service?? Community service is work that is done by a person or group of people that benefits others. Often the work or action takes place near the area where the individual lives. There is no pay involved it is on volunteer basis only Many individuals in the community such as children, senior citizens, individuals with disabilities are often helped. There are also community services that benefit animals and community service. Organizations such as local groups, places of worship, and school may all help to organize what service projects are needed done.

Often individuals who enjoy helping others and improving their community volunteer for community service. Some community service is not via volunteers but also mandated by school or judge.

  • Build a house with Habitat for Humanity.
  • Donate your old clothes.
  • Volunteer at a soup kitchen.
  • Donate old eyeglasses to an organization that collects that and distributes them to people in need.
  • Donate non-perishable food to a food bank.
  • Donate blankets to a homeless shelter.

  5. This is wonderful. The holidays are the best time to volunteer because a lot of people don't have anyone to share this time with.

During the rest of the year it's important to do little things to remind your community you care, even it when seems no one else does.

  7. These are great ideas. I love giving back whenever I can. Being a mom I think it's especially important to show my kids the benefits of giving back and I definitely want to try building a habitat house in the future.

  8. Volunteering is one of the activities that I also enjoyed. It is nice feeling to help to the community for a common cause, especially for those communities that was damaged by calamities. This coming week I will be joining a volunteer work for the victims of Marawi war.
