Valentine Fondue

We are just days away from Valentines day. This year like every year it will be on February 14th. You may be planning something early though as Valentines day comes on a Tuesday this year. Many may choose to celebrate the weekend before. One idea would plan a dinner for just you and your valentine. Since valentine day is so sweet why not start with dessert first?? Fondues always do great whether cheese or chocolate they are fun and romantic to when you dip the food and feed it to each other.
Fondue is the creation from Switzerland. Since the 1700's it has become a worldwide favorite. During long winters in Remote Swiss villages they often faced the challenge of finding food. They had to become wise with storing food items like bread and cheese. These foods could be put up during summer for winter prep. Cheese fondue came about because warm stale cheese is more palatable then simply stale cheese. Dipping the stale bread in it softens the bread and together they make a delicious meal. In the 1960s and 70s fondue reemerged as a fun date night or dinner party option. You can find more at "Fondue Bits" that can help fill you in with more.
