Saxophone Day ==== Play On

I recall in band class all the woodwinds would go to class together. Flutes, Clarinets like I played and Saxophone all learned notes in the beginning classes together. It seemed as if the saxophone offered a more masculine sound in the woodwind section and had real power as well. The metallic look of it was very pleasing to the eye as well.

Cartoon characters like Lisa Simpson have played the saxophone as well. Don't forget great musicians like President Clinton who could play jazz from the sax as well. 

The Sax was invented in the early 1840s and patented in 1846 in Paris by Belgian musician and instrument designer Adolphe Sax. Adolphe Sax was born on November 6th 1814. As the clarinet and flute were created earlier Sax played both and created the Sax borrowing from both instruments.
